Why is the electric oven or grill not working?
The power is not turned on - check the power. Controls are incorrectly set. The household fuse has blown or power supply is off. If the fuse continues to blow, call the Service Centre.
Why is the electric oven light not working?
The lamp has blown or loose in socket or household fuse has blown. If it continues to blow, call the Service Centre.
Why is the electric oven not heating enough?
There maybe foil or trays on bottom of oven.
Why is the electric oven not working?
The clock may be in Auto mode (refer to operating instructions). The household fuse has blown, if it continues to blow, call the Service Centre.
Why are oven doors and hobs too hot to touch?
They get hot due to the heat transfer from the element. All our products comply with Australian standards.
Why does the oven light always come on when the oven is turned on?
The oven light is wired to the thermostat control and this is the normal operation in most of our latest oven ranges.
Can my electric wall oven be rear vented?
No, They are designed for front venting using the cooling fan.
What sized saucepan can be used on a ceramic cooktop?
Up to 1 cm larger than the markings on the surface of the ceramic cooktop.
Why did the electric wall oven produce smoke when it was first used?
The smoke is caused by the protective oils left on the appliance, these oils are removed after turning the grill to "high" for 10 minutes, and then the oven for 10 minutes.

How do I look after my solid hotplates?
Apply "Shine On" paste which prevents rust corrosion and maintains a sheen to your valuable elements. Shine on is also available in a kit complete with stainless steel cleaner. Kit will clean 4 solid elements and trim rings. To Order call Electrolux Spare Parts on 13 13 50.
Can I light my electronic gas cooktop manually if the power goes out?
Yes, there is no problem with lighting it manually.

Will the flame in the gas oven vary?
Yes, when the oven reaches the temperature it's been set at.
Why does it take so long for the gas oven to ignite?
The gas takes a little time to come through. Also the glow plug has to reach a certain temperature before igniting.
What are Australian Standard specifications?
The standards are from a Government Body for all manufactured products to comply with.

How does a recirculating rangehood work?
The filtered air is returned back into the room via vents on the front of the rangehood or a duct kit.
What is the difference between recirculating and ducted rangehoods?
For ducted rangehoods the air is directed to the outside, but recirculating rangehoods return the filtered air back into the room via vents on the front of the rangehood or a duct kit.
Why do you need carbon filters and how often should they be replaced?
For recirculating rangehoods carbon filters remove odours. For frequent oil based cooking, the filters should be changed approximately every 2 months, for cooking that involves mainly boiling or steaming with little oil based cooking, the filters should be changed less frequently.
What is a centrifugal fan?
It uses a blower wheel.
What is an axial fan?
It uses a propeller style blade.
Does a retracta rangehood have to be ducted?
It is recommended that retracta rangehood be ducted externally, they may be ducted to recirculate into the kitchen but the best results are achieved by external ducting.
